Disney Cruise Line Pre-Sail Testing Services

Guests Sailing Before September 2, 2022

Current testing requirements for fully vaccinated guests ages 5 and over:

  • Fully vaccinated Guests ages 5 and over on sailings departing US and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken no more than 1-2 days before setting sail to be exempt from embarkation testing at the terminal.
  • Tests must produce official lab results that include the guest’s full name and date of birth, the sample collection date, the test result, and the test type. Permitted test types are proctored antigen tests, NAAT, and PCR tests.
  • Guests can purchase COVID-19 tests through Inspire Diagnostics, or obtain a test from any independent testing supplier or pharmacy.
  • Guests who do not submit Embarkation Test results to Safe Passage by midnight before their sail date must be tested at the terminal on embarkation day and will be charged for the cost of the test.

Current testing requirements for unvaccinated children ages 4 and under:

  • Unvaccinated guests 4 years of age and younger are required to participate in both Pre-Sail Testing and Embarkation Day Testing.
  • For Pre-Sail Testing, guests must provide a negative COVID-19 test result taken 1-3 days before their sail date. The test should be a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT), a rapid PCR test or a lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. The result should include the guest’s full name and date of birth, the sample collection date, the test result, and the test type.
  • Unvaccinated Guests 4 years of age and under are required to complete a COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to embarkation (paid for by Disney Cruise Line).

After registering in Safe Passage within 15 days of their sail date, Disney Cruise Line guests can schedule PCR tests with Inspire Diagnostics at a testing site near the terminal.

  • Hours: 10 AM to 3 PM Pacific Time – Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays before each sail date ONLY.

Disney Cruise Line guests can purchase at-home PCR tests once they register in Safe Passage within 15 days of their sail date.

Please note that Inspire at-home PCR tests are only intended for unvaccinated children under 5 years old, as the sample for the test must be mailed to the Inspire lab 3 days before the guest’s sail date.

Test results from Inspire Diagnostics will be automatically updated in your Safe Passage account after your appointment. The testing site staff will advise when you should expect your results in Safe Passage.

Inspire Diagnostics Home PCR test results will be automatically updated in your Safe Passage account 24-48 hours after they are received by the lab.

A guest can reschedule or cancel an appointment by contacting the Inspire Support Center (877-250-5132 or DCLsupport@inspirediagnostics.com)

Inspire Diagnostics will refund guests as follows for canceled home test kit orders:

Full refund of $98.33 for cancellation requests are available for:

  • Any test kit orders that have not yet been shipped by Inspire to the guest for any reason.
  • Any test kit orders canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled date/time.
  • Any test kit orders, regardless of shipment or completion status, due to a change caused by no fault of the guest (cancellation/rescheduling of a cruise reservation initiated by DCL, change in DCL testing requirement, or delays in delivery which resulted in test kit no longer being usable).

Partial refund of $77.63 for cancellation requests due to any guest-initiated change, error, or omission for any at-home test kits that have already been shipped but have not been completed by the Inspire lab.

Not Cancellable/No Refund: Cancellations are not accepted after 45 days of order date or change date. No refund for tests that have been completed by the Inspire lab.

How to Cancel: A guest must initiate a cancellation request within 45 days of order date or change date, whichever is later, by contacting the Inspire DCL Support Center 877-250-5132 or DCLsupport@inspirediagnostics.com.

Inspire Diagnostics will refund guests as follows for canceled on-site test orders:

Full refund of $98.33 for cancellation requests are available for:

  • Any on-site tests canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled date/time.
  • Any on-site tests due to a change caused by no fault of the guest (cancellation/rescheduling of a cruise reservation initiated by DCL or change in DCL testing requirements).

Partial refund of $77.63 for cancellation requests due to any guest-initiated change or for any scheduled on-site tests less than 24 hours before the test date.

Not Cancellable/No Refund: Cancellations are not accepted after 45 days of order date or change date. No refund for tests that have been completed by the Inspire Lab.

The Inspire Diagnostics team will take up to 24 hours to review third-party test results uploaded to Safe Passage. If it has been over 24 hours, contact the Inspire DCL Support Center (877-250-5132 or DCLsupport@inspirediagnostics.com).

Guests Sailing On or After September 2, 2022

COVID-19 Testing Requirements for Fully Vaccinated Guests:

  • Fully vaccinated Guests on sailings departing US and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken 1 to 2 days before setting sail to be exempt from embarkation testing at the terminal. Completing pre-trip testing prior to embarkation day enhances the efficiency of boarding and confirms that you are negative for COVID-19 prior to traveling to the terminal. Pre-trip test results must be uploaded into the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day.
  • Antigen tests must be completed using a proctored in-person or telehealth service and come with digital results that can be uploaded to the Safe Passage website. A nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) or PCR test also is acceptable. Guests can purchase COVID-19 tests through the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website, or obtain a test from any independent online testing supplier or pharmacy.
  • Fully vaccinated Guests who upload their pre-trip test results to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day will be exempt from embarkation testing. Fully vaccinated Guests who do not upload test results by midnight prior to embarkation day must be tested at the terminal on embarkation day before boarding the ship and will be charged for the cost of the test.
  • Guests with positive COVID-19 test results are required to complete a second confirmatory test. Guests with confirmed positive test results—as well as those sharing the same stateroom and other close contacts—will be denied boarding.

COVID-19 Testing for Guests Not Fully Vaccinated:

  • Guests who are not fully vaccinated must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 1 to 3 days before the sail date. The test should be a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT), a rapid PCR test or a lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. This will be the first of 2 tests required for Guests not fully vaccinated; the second test will be conducted at the terminal on embarkation day.
  • Guests who are not fully vaccinated are required to complete a COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to boarding on embarkation day (paid for by Disney Cruise Line). Guests with positive COVID-19 test results are required to undergo a second confirmatory test. Guests with confirmed positive test results—as well as those sharing the same stateroom and other close contacts—will be denied boarding.
