The self-administered PCR test under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA makes sample collection easy and convenient

LAKE FOREST, Calif. & RALEIGH, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–U.S.-based health care services company Inspire Health Alliance today announced a COVID-19 testing program with the North Carolina Association of Educators designed to support a safe and sustainable return to in-person classroom instruction.

The partnership will supply the Association’s teachers with access to periodic at-home PCR testing kits that can be self-administered to monitor for COVID-19 infection. Each kit comes with self-nasal swabs as well as detailed instructions on how to collect a specimen and then overnight it back in the mail to Inspire’s CLIA-licensed laboratory.

“Quick, accurate and frequent COVID-19 testing is one of the most important tools that we can provide our dedicated educators as they return to work,” said Tamika Walker Kelly, president of the North Carolina Association of Educators. “By offering our educators the ability to easily and routinely test themselves, we hope to take a meaningful step toward containing infections before they are spread throughout our classrooms, buildings, or communities.”

John Kang, managing partner of Inspire Health Alliance, added, “Even with preventative measures in place, teachers across the country are understandably concerned about catching the virus. Testing is an important piece of the layered approach to mitigating the spread of COVID-19, particularly when early detection of asymptomatic cases can help to protect the health of the greater community.”

Inspire Health Alliance is working with school systems, private businesses, nonprofits and those on the frontlines across the country to provide coordinated testing solutions.
